Pedestrian Safety in Michigan & Nationwide

Even though many people have been spending more time at home because of the coronavirus pandemic, car accidents involving pedestrians have remained a major problem. This is a trend that has been on the rise in recent years, even when other types of fatal traffic accidents declined during the same time, and it carried on well into 2020 even with fewer cars on the road and fewer people out and about in general. Since pedestrians don't have the luxury of being protected by things like airbags and other safety features, these accidents very commonly result in injuries or even death.

This infographic examines just how common car accidents involving pedestrians are both in the state of Michigan and throughout the United States. It also covers some of the contributing factors to pedestrian accidents, the severity of pedestrian accidents, and other facts and statistics related to traffic accidents involving pedestrians.
