People’s approach to work has changed since the onset of the global pandemic two years ago. 

Businesses worldwide implemented remote working arrangements to minimize the spread of the virus and continue operations. This shift generally brought a positive change that allowed for more flexibility for families, less hassle and cost for commuting to work, and relief from working in an office.

Since then, most employees have believed that they can perform some of their job functions remotely; most wish to work from home on certain days. But this was also met with challenges, especially for employers and managers. Learning to handle a remote team strategically is no easy task, and they also must be aware of legal complications.

These brought about numerous adjustments to employment law that companies are still getting used to. Whatever the changes, the basic principles remain the same. Employers must treat their employees fairly and offer the minimum state-required benefits.
