Why Your Website Isn’t Ranking on Google

Most marketers who have been doing search engine optimization (SEO) are in a consensus that backlinks and high-quality content are the top two ranking factors used by Google to determine which page ranks on number one. But unless you are already in the top 10 (page one of Google), then you shouldn't worry about these two. Instead, focus on your user experience. Or more specifically, your website speed.

Did you know that the average page load speed of the websites on page one of Google is 1.65 seconds? Google recommends at a load speed of at least 3 seconds. Most websites, however, load in over 10 seconds on desktop and 21 seconds on mobile.

So, if you're still wondering why your website isn't ranking, it's because of your website speed. Once you get to an acceptable level (somewhere between 2-3 seconds), focus on other areas such as link building and improving the quality of your content. But until then, focus on speed because it affects website rankings.
