Rain, wind, snow, more wind and yet more rain: we've had it rough this winter in the UK. Unfortunately, there's yet more unsettled weather coming. The Met Office is warning the west coast of the UK to brace once again as Storm Jonas makes it way across the Atlantic, morphing on the way into Storm Gertrude.

On the bright side, we're supposed to be spared the two feet of snow that Jonas dumped on New York and Washington. What we're getting instead is rain — lots of it! Over a two-day period, the UK is due to receive a full month's rainfall. So with the rain clouds looming, we thought it was a wise idea to remind our readers about some super simple advice for driving in the rain.

History of HIV

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. Although HIV is a virus, it's still deadly. If left untreated, HIV can lead to the disease AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome).Unlike other common viruses that we know, the human body has no ability to get rid of HIV completely. When you have HIV, you have it for life.

HIV is deadly because it attacks the body’s immune system. This makes the body a target for viruses as you don't have the cells to fight off the virus. CD4 cells, commonly called "T Cells," are healthy cells that fight off infections from harming your body. Without them, you'd be at risk.  HIV greatly reduces the number of CD4 cells in your body, making you more likely to get infections or infection-related cancers if HIV is left untreated. As time passes and more healthy cells are destroyed, the body has no ability to fight off the viruses and infections. This stage in HIV is known as AIDS, the last stage of HIV leading to death.

As of 2016, there's no cure for HIV. While millions of dollars have funded research, trials and treatments, we have yet to find a cure. We do have a treatment, known as Antiretroviral Therapy or ART. If taken correctly, men and women with HIV can live much longer than before. It also lowers the risk of them passing the virus to others. As long as the disease is caught early, people on the treatment can live a long life.

Countries with the highest tax rates

Every country has a different tax rate.  While some countries do not have an income tax, other countries have a tax rate which is over 60 percent of your income.  This means that you get to keep less than half of what you earn.  European countries often have the highest rates, usually countries which offer social services such as subsidized health care, education, and possibly unemployment benefits.  For example the highest tax rate in Belgium is as high as 64 percent for individuals in the highest tax bracket and 34 percent for corporation in the highest tax bracket.  While the federal tax rates in the US are generally not the highest or the lowest among the countries in the world, once state and local taxes are included, some individuals can end up paying over half their income to the federal, state and local governments combined. Many of us use frequently older buildings on a regular basis. In fact, the majority of us live, work, and spend our leisure time indoors.
