Recent Data Hacks that Shook the World

The continuous increase in size and sophistication of cyberattacks is noticeable because of the shocking headlines.  The development of the “Internet of Things” has made it easier for hackers because of the interconnectivity of devices that send and receive data daily.

Unintentionally yielding to the attacks of cyber criminals is costly. The average cost of a data breach, based on research, is $3.8 million -- a great loss that can be avoided if cybersecurity measures are observed.

It is unfortunate, though, that businesses and national governments still remain rather lax when it comes to data security.  The Global Cybersecurity Index recently showed that the tech strategies of a number of national and industrial technologies exclude cybersecurity.  UK businesses have been regularly preyed on by hackers and in the past year, suffered a loss of over £1 Billion to cyberattacks.  Reports show that 9 out of 10 UK organisations are not confident in their data protection and feel vulnerable to data threats.

Recently, businesses and governments have been victims of hackers and the world’s biggest data breaches have occurred in the past years.  This infographic from Turrem Data that will give you an overview of the recent data hacks that shook the world.
